Trainee Design Technicians

The responsibilities we will trust you with:

  • To work in a timely and structured manner, under the guidance of your peer group to ensure that all Nova processes and procedures are followed.
  • Learning to create and adapt Revit based production models to create fabrication, production, and assembly drawings.
  • You will be trained to ensure that all the above activities are conducted in compliance with the company’s ERP/MRP systems and other systems and standards, including ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, BIM Level 2, and the requirements of the sales processes.

Purchasing Manager

As Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for sourcing materials, components equipment, goods, services and managing vendors. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple categories of spend and work closely with the commercial department in support of bid management. The role will require you to work closely with our Head of Design to ensure that all materials and components conform to current building regulations and where possible carry BBA and KIWA certification.

Annual Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 based on experience

Objectives of the role:

As Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for sourcing materials, components equipment, goods, services and managing vendors. Main duties and Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Managing Director and other heads of department in developing and implementing an ERP/MRP system.

As part of the management team you will produce a monthly report, stats and analytics related to the purchasing function in keeping the business fully appraised.

  • Manage the purchase and supply of all procured goods and services through the company’s ERP system
  • Successfully manage a large supplier base; negotiating improved supplier terms and pricing
  • Conduct market research and report on movements in price and changes in terms being offered
  • Constantly update the companies ERP system to reflect current pricing of materials and components
  • Manage supplier relationships including quality and supply issues, improving supplier performance, and building successful supply chain partnerships
  • Identify and assess new supply options for current and upcoming purchasing requirements
  • In conjunction with the HSEQ Manager, complete the internal supplier approval process to ensure that all suppliers meet the relevant business standards, and all relevant certification and records are up to date
  • Arrange and attend supplier meetings in order to analyse and discuss supplier performance, as well as gain knowledge of the full portfolio of products and services offered
  • Maintain regular communication with the Production, Commercial and Design teams to finalise and confirm the weekly/monthly production schedule based on customer requirements and available material stocks
  • Analyse internal purchasing processes and suggest improvements to ensure continuity of the department’s performance
  • To work closely with the Head of Design to ensure that all materials procured meet the current Building Regulations, carry BBA or KIWA certification and are in accordance with the Nova accredited building fabric
  • The ability to drive down into the efficacy of products

 

Education, Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing purchasing role (desired), or housebuilder

Main duties and Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Managing Director and other heads of department in developing and implementing an ERP/MRP system.

  • Developing PQQ and tender responses
  • Review client project plans and interpret their requirements
  • Oversee and lead the planning and delivery of PQQ’s and bid submissions in line with agreed strategies
  • To read and interpret the contractual tender documents and highlight areas of risk, making recommendations accordingly pre response
  • Schedule and lead the internal bid management business process in developing winning bid strategies
  • Where necessary, to allocate responsibility to other team members in support of costing the bid/tender submissions
  • Acting as the point of contact for clients during the tendering/bid process
  • Oversee the preparation of tender/bid submission documents
  • Arrange adjudication meetings in accordance with company procedures
  • Ensure that tender/bid submissions are presented in line with Nova corporate guidelines
  • Ensure sign-off of any tender/bid submission by an authorised person
  • Ensure that tender/bid responses are submitted in a timely fashion
  • Respond to client RFI’s during the post tender period pre contract award
  • Ensure that submitted tender/bid submissions are followed up to establish our success or failure to secure the contract
  • Submit a detailed monthly report for review at the monthly management team meeting

Education, Qualifications & Experience

Job Title: MEP Revit Technician

Reports to: Head of Design

Contract: Permanent

Annual Salary: £35,000 – £45,000 (based on experience)

Objectives of the role:

  • Working with the Design and Manufacturing teams in creating bespoke MEP solutions for volumetric modular housing
  • Detailed design and detailing for electrical, mechanical, and plumbing systems for our housing system, in compliance with the latest Building regulations and SAP calculations.
  • All designs to drawn and scheduled for manufacture in Revit, minimum experience of 3 Years working on live projects, creating, and editing families. Maintaining libraries and working in accordance with the company standards. For submission to building regulations and regulatory bodies.
  • Supporting the sales functions by performing viability assessments of potential projects and to demonstrate the potential uses of our products.
  • To work within the various specialisms that make up the Design Team, including in-house and outsourced specialists. Ensuring compliance to standards such as BOPAS (Build Offsite Property Assurance Scheme), and Building Regulations is central to this objective.
  • To work with the Operations Team to innovate, improve and value engineer Nova products.
  • To identify and record the costs of the design and to reduce them wherever possible, without compromising the objectives of the design brief.
  • To ensure that all the above activities are conducted in compliance with the company’s ERP/IMS systems and other standards, including ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001, BIM Level 2, and the requirements of the sales processes.

Objectives of the role:

  • Working in the Design team producing Revit models, for the design, manufacture, and construction of Modular Volumetric Housing System.
  • Our design covers all the Building Disciplines; Architecture, Structural Engineering, MEP and Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DfMA).
  • Working in a multi skilled environment, design, and coordination with all business functions, producing Regulatory compliant and economic designs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining and creating appropriate Revit families in accordance with Nova company standards.
  • Supporting the sales functions by performing viability assessments of potential projects and to demonstrate the potential uses of our products. Producing renderings of potential layouts and finishes to clients’ specifications and requirements.
  • To work within the various specialisms that make up the Design Team, including in-house and outsourced specialists. Ensuring compliance to standards such as BOPAS (Build Offsite and Property Assurance Scheme) and Building Regulations is central to this objective.
  • To work with the Operations Team to innovate, improve and value engineer Nova products.
